Who We Are: Abominable Putridity, Moscow's Slam Band
If you've ever heard a slam part so heavy it seems to slow time down, there's a good chance we had something to do with it. Here's a quick guide to who we are and where we came from, for new listeners and old ones.
Where are we from?
We come from Moscow, Russia. The band formed there in 2003, started by drummer Alexander Kubiashvili and guitarist Pavel.
What do we sound like?
Slamming brutal death metal. Think slow, crushing slam parts, fast blasts and deep, guttural vocals. Our lyrics and artwork are full of gore, horror and science fiction: astronauts, alien life and bodies turned into something else.
Who is in the band today?
Since 2020 we've been a duo: Alexander Kubiashvili plays every instrument and Angel Ochoa handles vocals and lyrics. Over the years the line-up also included vocalist Matti Way, guitarist Sergey Balayan and bassist Andrey Kuklin.
The albums so far
- In the End of Human Existence (2007, on Lacerated Enemy Records)
- The Anomalies of Artificial Origin (2012, on Brutal Bands; remixed and remastered in 2015)
- Parasitic Metamorphosis Manifestation (2021, on Inherited Suffering Records)
Our newest track is the single Bio Transmitted Ingurgitated Interface, released in December 2023.
Wear the logo
The spiky, dripping logo on our designs is the band's own: a knot of thorns that spells ABOMINABLE PUTRIDITY once you know how to read it. Abominable Putridity Merch has tees, hoodies and sweatshirts. Whether you've been there since the first album or just found us, there's something here for you.
